Established in 2003, The First Tee of Massachusetts has been providing learning opportunities for children of all ages at The Links at Mass Golf and other golf courses all across the state in an effort to help grow the game. The First Tee has a proven curriculum of golf and life skills that is designed to introduce children to the game of golf, yet instill life skills and core values into each lesson that can be used on and off the golf course. In addition to learning basic skills of the game, The First Tee participants are introduced to The First Tee Nine Core Values (Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Courtesy, Responsibility, Confidence, Judgment, Perseverance) and The First Tee Nine Healthy Habits (Energy, Play, Safety, Vision, Mind, Family, Friends, School, Community). Our goal is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The unique life skills platform of The First Tee helps participants become comfortable introducing themselves to others, meeting new people, learning something new, setting goals, and dealing with conflict. In addition to providing learning opportunities at various locations, The First Tee National School Program currently serves 31 school districts across Massachusetts.
