See below! 4/13/2020 Letter to Parents Hello Franklin Families, Our teachers, staff, and administration are deeply saddened by the fact that our school will remain closed forthe remainder of this school year. We value our families and staff and want to make every effort possible to keep everyone safe. Our teachers are offering optional online instruction and take home packets for students to continue to learn at home. Even though, for safety reasons, we do not want the paper packets returned, you can get teacher feedback by emailing the assignment to your child's teacher. If you are unable to scan, you could also take a picture and email it to the teacher. Because of this, there will be no fourth quarter grades given during our school closure. Therefore, as long as students were making adequate progress during the first through third quarter your child will be promoted to the next grade level. Administration will be contacting parents of students who were not making adequate progress and parent phone conference meetings will be set up to discuss possible options for next year. Instructional take home packets will continue to be available for pick up on Monday from 8AM-9AM and11AM-1PM of each week. We will also continue to serve meals Monday thru Friday from 8AM-9AM and 11AM-1PM on the Copper Hill side of our school. Student’s personal belongings will be returned to parents when it is permitted for the school to reopen safely. Enrollment is ongoing for next year. You may access our enrollment forms at www.franklinphoneticschool.com or they are being handed out through the meal line as well. Completed forms can be emailed directly to Mrs.Barker at [email protected] or can be dropped off in a box in front of the Jr. High office. If you would like to make a request in writing for a specific teacher for your child in the elementary grades, please email your request to Ms. Gabaldon at [email protected] and remember to cite specific reasons for your request. All teacher requests will be considered but may not be honored due to class sizes, student conflicts, etc. If you have school books at home that need to be returned, they can be brought to the school between 2PM and 6PM on Thursdays. Ms. Fitch will be at the school working on the Jr. High packets and a book cart will be set outside the Jr. High office for you to safely return any school books. Please put a sticky note with your name on it so we can accurately keep track of who has returned books. Ms. Post has placed the order for our yearbooks. We will make a decision about the best way to distribute yearbooks once the shipment has arrived. Our staff has been brainstorming ways to send out and collect Electives forms for next year. Please continue to check for updates. Jr. High teachers are getting pins and letters together for those students who have earned them this year.These will be mailed along with Honor Roll and Principal’s List certificates for this school year.
